Meesho 10月大促首日订单增长75%,服装等品类走热AMZ123 has learned that, recently, Indian e-commerce platform Meesho released its first-day results for the 2026 Mega Blockbuster Sale. Order volume grew approximately 75% year on year. Just 15 minutes after the event began, peak orders per minute on the platform exceeded 7.5 ten thousand orders, while the number of consumers placing orders grew approximately 60% year on year. Categories including apparel, home and kitchen, beauty and personal care, children's products, and electronic accessories all saw strong demand.

The 2026 Mega Blockbuster Sale runs from day 9 of month 10 to day 17 of month 10.

According to the announcement, Meesho's branded shopping business, Meesho Mall, saw first-day order volume grow by more than 200% year on year. The number of Meesho Mall consumers from India's third-tier and smaller cities rose to nearly 3 times the previous year's level. Across more than 1000 brands, among consumers purchasing Meesho Mall products, more than one-third were buying products from this business for the first time.

Consumers purchasing branded products for the first time mainly focused on everyday consumption categories. More than 80% of first-time Meesho Mall shoppers chose beauty and personal care products, including facial cleansers, perfumes, soaps, and skincare products, followed by health and wellness products and footwear. This indicates that branded products are reaching consumers beyond India's major cities through more accessible pricing and broader sales coverage.

AI recommendations are also helping consumers discover products. Meesho said that AI-powered personalized product recommendations generated approximately 85% of orders on the first day of the sale.

In addition to branded shopping, creator-driven content commerce is also growing rapidly. On the first day of the sale, order volume for Meesho's Content Commerce business increased by approximately 3.7 times year on year. Among active creators in this business, approximately 90% were nano creators, meaning content creators with smaller follower bases; of these, 81% came from non-metropolitan areas of India. These creators help users discover products through content that more closely reflects local lifestyles and consumption habits, while also enabling creators from more regions to participate in e-commerce sales.

Looking at specific products, Indian consumers' festive shopping is expanding from preparing festive outfits to covering the entire festive occasion. Sarees, children's clothing sets, and kurta sets remained among the most popular products on the first day of the sale, but consumers also began preparing for personal care, accessories, home decoration, cleaning, hosting family and friends, and religious rituals.

Some products related to festive preparations saw particularly strong sales growth:

  • Orders for doorway decorations called Torans and wall hangings increased by 8 times year on year;

  • Orders for support patches used to hold up heavy earrings and reduce strain on earlobes increased by nearly 7 times;

  • Demand for rosemary haircare products increased by more than 6 times;

  • Perfumes, facial cleansers, colorful floor decorations called Rangoli, decorative lights, candles, incense, religious ritual supplies, and kitchen cleaners;

  • Metal cleaners used to polish religious ritual utensils.

Growing consumer demand also brought more orders to merchants on the platform. On the first day of the sale, the number of sellers on Meesho who actually completed transactions grew approximately 63% year on year, while the number of transacting sellers from India's fourth-tier and smaller cities doubled year on year. The number of sellers receiving their first orders on Meesho also grew approximately 43% year on year. This means that the sale not only provided sales opportunities for merchants with established business operations, but also gave more merchants from smaller cities and regional markets opportunities to reach consumers.

Meesho said that, measured by annual transacting users and order volume, it is one of India's largest e-commerce platforms. Its goal is to use technology to lower barriers to participation in e-commerce, offer Indian consumers more affordable shopping options, and support millions of small businesses and individuals in starting online businesses with lower upfront investment.
