Amazon's Bee launches two AI wearable devices that can record and summarize conversations

Published · Updated

亚马逊Bee推出两款AI穿戴设备,可录音与总结对话AMZ123 has learned that Amazon recently introduced two new Bee artificial intelligence devices: the $75 Bee Frontiersmart wearabledevice and the Bee Eclipse recording device, priced at $100. Both products can record, transcribe, and analyze users' everyday conversations, helping them organize discussions and review recent exchanges. This also marksAmazon's first update to the product lineup since acquiring AI startup Bee in month 7 of 2025.

The Bee Frontier is an upgraded version of Amazon's existing wearable device and can be worn on the wrist or clipped to clothing. Like its predecessor, the device offers a battery life of up to 7 days. However, its price has also increased from $50 for the previous generation to $75.

Amazon said the new device features two sets of upgraded microphones that filter out noise more effectively, allowing it to capture important information more accurately and reduce interference from irrelevant sounds, even in noisy environments such as crowded restaurants or open-plan offices. The device went on sale on day 15 of month 10, local time.

The other device, Bee Eclipse, is priced at $100 and is roughly the shape of a credit card. It can attach magnetically to the back of a smartphone. It offers features similar to those of other Bee devices but does not need to be worn on the body. Amazon said the product will launch soon, but has not yet announced a specific release date.

Amazon acquired San Francisco-based startup Bee in month 7 of 2025, without disclosing the transaction amount. Bee previously attracted attention with a smart wristband capable of continuously listening to surrounding conversations. Its devices feature built-in microphones and artificial intelligence capabilities that can convert conversations into text and analyze their content.

In terms of functionality, Bee devices can not only record conversations but also automatically generate conversation summaries, helping users review what they discussed over the past few days. The system can also identify recurring trends and topics and provide personalized goals or suggested actions based on them. For example, if a user mentions needing to buy dishwashing liquid during a conversation, related products may appear on Amazon's homepage or in Bee's mobile and desktop apps.

For consumers seeking more features, Amazon also offers a Bee Pro subscription for $12 per month. Subscribers can generate unlimited conversation summaries and daily memories, and use integrations with Amazon's online store, the Alexa+ AI assistant, and third-party apps.

However, the ability to continuously listen to everyday conversations has also raised privacy concerns about such products. Amazon said Bee devices are designed to keep data secure, and that no one, including Amazon itself, can access users' data. Users can delete conversation transcripts and summaries at any time. Amazon also said the devices do not store actual audio recordings. When recording begins, an LED indicator on the device lights up to alert users that recording is in progress.

It is worth noting that Bee devices do not simply record continuously without any control once switched on. Unlike some of Apple's upcoming watch features, Bee users need to press a button to start or stop recording. Amazon also said that each time recording begins, the system prompts users to obtain consent from the participants in the call.

As the year-end holiday shopping season approaches, several technology companies are stepping up the rollout of new artificial intelligence devices. Amazon previously revamped its Fire tablet lineup, shifting to three Alexa tablets with integrated artificial intelligence features; Microsoft showcased a Windows laptop powered by NVIDIA technology; and Apple introduced the HomeView smart home hub featuring Siri artificial intelligence capabilities.

Meanwhile, Amazon will also face competition from other artificial intelligence wearables.Meta's AI-powered smart glasses have continued to attract growing market attention thanks to their built-in cameras and artificial intelligence features, but have also sparked widespread privacy concerns among users. Meta also unveiled a palm-sized pendant called Muse Charm, which can run its latest Muse AI assistant.
